Just when you thought everything looked quiet, I've gone and made new improvements to the servers.
The new server upgrade brings with it better website reliability (FotoForFree has been offline a little bit lately) and a bit more speed. Yes, the pages might download a bit faster for some people and I have even put page compression up so there will be less bandwidth usage for anyone on slower connections. I was quite impressed to see that a 30k web page compressed ends up at only 4k. The bandwidth saving on this is incredible. Its no surprise there are still dialup users who are using the site.
Admittedly, I didnt think the upgrade would have made such an impact on the daily statistics. In fact, not only has there been a jump in people visiting the website but we are breaking new records for visitors in a day. Is this a sign of whats to come? I really hope so.
This did make me think about how anyone can get in touch with us through the website. I recently decided to implement a comments/survey feature. You will be able to send messages to the FotoForFree team about everything and anything regarding this website or whatever is on your mind. The great thing with this nifty feature is you dont need to be logged in to use it but dont expect any replies if you dont.
